I would like to dedicate
this site to those individuals who have been
medically diagnosed with IBS and continue to suffer
with symptoms while having many unanswered questions.
When a benign disorder that has
no effect on longevity and has no known association
with disease or cancer has an economic cost to our
society of $30 billion and these individuals are
undergoing nearly twice as many abdominal surgeries
as people without IBS and suffer with significant
numbers of missing work days and loss of
productivity and impairment at work, as a medical
community we need to do more.
This site is an attempt to positively impact through education and alternative strategies of management this tremendous burden to our society.
I want to thank my wife for her
continued support and inspiration in giving me the
courage to create this site.
Sincerely,
Steven M. Faber M.D. F.A.C.G.
